Tangier Island is a town of true Eastern Shore heritage. Only accessed by boat, you can imagine the uniqueness of the island - and the day to day lifestyle that must take place. This small world in the Chesapeake Bay is prime example of small town America, where everyone knows everyone by first name. In the summer months many locals can't resist taking a boat ride to the island for some of the famous crab cakes and other Shore delights. From May through September visitors can catch the ferry out of Onancock for a round day trip to the island. While visiting our fine shore, a day trip to Tangier is a must.
